    Japan interested in investing in Ukraine’s titanium industry

    Head of the Ukrainian State Property Fund Vitalii Koval has met with the representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Toho Titanium to discuss the possibility of investing in Ukraine’s titanium industry.
    “In February, together with the government delegation, I visited Tokyo, and today [March 8, 2024 – Ed.] I have met with the representatives of JICA and Toho Titanium to discuss further steps, in particular the possibility of investing in Ukraine’s titanium industry. I told them about the industry’s largest enterprises controlled by the State Property Fund, such as Zaporizhzhia Titanium and Magnesium Plant (ZTMP), Sumykhimprom, and United Mining and Chemical Company (UMCC),” Koval wrote.
    The Ukrainian State Property Fund also governs Titanium Institute JSC, which is specializing in the research and development of titanium industry solutions in different countries.
    Koval mentioned that Ukraine’s titanium industry requires investment, experience and technologies. Today, it is important for Ukraine to launch the processing of titanium ores, namely in order to prevent Russians from gaining access to Ukrainian raw materials, Koval added.

    Visit of the Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Vitaly Koval to JSC “TITANIUM INSTITUTE”

    On February 12 of this year, JSC “TITANIUM INSTITUTE” was visited by the Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, Vitaly Stanislavovich Koval.
    At a technical meeting with the participation of the management of TITANIUM INSTITUTE JSC, General Director Viktor Aleksandrovich Brener spoke in detail about the international cooperation of our institute with leading metallurgical companies, about ongoing contracts and about potential contracts under discussion. V.A. Brener also reported on promising areas of work of JSC “TITANIUM INSTITUTE” and new, innovative technologies that are proposed for implementation.
    According to V.S. Kovalya: “It is important for us to understand what the situation is with the facilities on the front-line territory. Today, JSC “TITANIUM INSTITUTE” has a number of international contracts. This allows us to ensure the operation of the enterprise and the representation of the state on the world market in the titanium industry. I am convinced that science and production are inextricably linked. If the institute works, then the titanium industry will live.”

    On May 25, 2023, a technical meeting was held at the JSC «Titanium Institute» with specialists from JSC «MOTOR SICH» and «MULTIFLEX LLC».
    Issues discussed:
    1. Testing and implementation of a resource-saving technology for producing gas turbine engine blades from serial titanium powders and titanium alloys produced by JSC «Titanium Institute».
    2. Testing of an innovative technology for the production of GTE blades from a new generation material – an alloy based on aluminum-titanium.
    3. The introduction of spherical titanium powders produced by «MULTIFLEX LLC» for the manufacture of disks.
    4. Creation of a new Technical Committee for Standardization “Additive Technologies”.
    Decided: JSC «MOTOR SICH» to develop an action plan to determine the properties of the material of blades from serial powders of titanium and titanium alloys produced by JSC «Titanium Institute» on samples simulating industrial production and to test the shaping technology for producing blades for gas turbine engines. After analyzing the test results, perform economic calculations of the feasibility of import substitution of deformed titanium semi-finished products.
    A new generation material, aluminum-titanium alloy, may be of interest as a raw material for the manufacture of 4++ and 5 generation GTE blades. JSC «Titanium Institute» will give JSC «MOTOR SICH» the test reports of the mechanical properties of the material and machined samples for tensile testing.

    PJSC “Titanium institute” took part in the online conference “New trends in the construction, research and operation of flying objects”, Warsaw, Republic of Poland

    February 05 of this year, head of the laboratory of metallothermy of PJSC “Titanium institute”, Ph.D. T. Yanko took part in the online conference “New trends in the construction, research and operation of flying objects” organized by the Łukasiewicz Institute of Aviation, Warsaw, Republic of Poland.
    T. Yanko made a presentation “Prospects for the new materials and technologies and their introduction into the aerospace industry”.
    Conference topics are as follows:
    1. Design and testing of aircraft.
    2. Modern aviation materials, production and research technologies.
    3. Security of aviation systems.
    4. Modern power plants of aircraft and missiles.
    5. Theoretical aspects of the development of new methods of design, construction and research of modern aviation.
    6. The human factor as a sensitive element of the operation of aviation systems.

    First meeting of the Working Group on the directions for the development of the titanium industry in Ukraine

    On December 10, 2020, at the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, there was the first meeting of the Working Group on the directions for the development of the titanium industry in Ukraine, which includes Viktor Brener, Director General of PJSC “Titanium Institute”.
    At the meeting of the Working Group, the problems and prospects of all components of the titanium industry of Ukraine were discussed as part of the “State Program for the Development of Ukrainian Industry up to 2030”.
    The following documents were reviewed:
    Project “Creation of a Ukrainian titanium cluster based on the VELTA Company”;
    Project “Creation of a vertically integrated holding company “Ukrtitanprom” in Ukraine;
    Draft Strategy for the Development of the Titanium Industry and the corresponding decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
    In order to create conditions for the development of the titanium industry, the Working Group decided to submit to the Ministry of Strategic Industry the developed Strategy for the Development of the Titanium Industry of Ukraine up to 2030 for their consideration and for the presentation of this strategy to the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The group also formulated a number of proposals to bring it forward to the state authorities.

    PJSC “Titanium institute” took part in the roundtable discussion “Implementation of state policy in the field of environmental monitoring and industrial pollution”

    On December 10 of this year, Director General of PJSC “Titanium institute” Viktor Brener took part in a joint meeting of the Committee of Entrepreneurs on Environmental Management and Environmental Protection Issues and the Public Council under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, which was held in the roundtable discussion format “Implementation of state policy in the field of environmental monitoring and industrial pollution” on the basis of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
    At the meeting, Viktor Brener demonstrated a presentation of PJSC “Titanium institute” called “Atmosphere air monitoring system”.
    PJSC “Titanium institute” proposes to create an environmental monitoring network in Zaporizhzhia (and in Zaporizhzhia region in the future). The network will consist of high-tech ecology posts (eco-posts) that will allow real-time measurements of both known environmental pollutants and the pollutants not included in the relevant regulatory documents. The proposed technical solution will allow for online and offline air condition monitoring with the publication of analysis results on the Internet (including the citizens’ mobile phones) using 4G technology. Data integrity is ensured by blockchain technology 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.



    PJSC “Titanium institute” took part in the Global Exhibition on Services (GES 2019)

    The Global Exhibition on Services (GES 2019) was held this year on November 26-28 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. It was attended by the Director General of PJSC “Titanium institute” Viktor Brener and First Deputy Director General Ievgenii Storchak.
    The managers of PJSC “Titanium institute” presented a range of technologies and services offered by our company to potential customers and held a number of meetings to expand the scope of the enterprise. In particular, they discussed the prospects of cooperation in the development and implementation of the innovative technology developed by PJSC “Titanium institute”for producing HDH titanium alloy powders from doped titanium sponge suitable for use in 3-D printing.
    Participation in an international exhibition of this scale, in addition to advertising the capabilities of PJSC “Titanium institute”, helps to establish direct business contacts, mutually beneficial cooperative ties, and provides up-to-date information regarding the situation on the markets of the Republic of India and countries of the Southeast Asia region that the company is interested in.

    PJSC “Titanium institute” has signed the contract with Song Binh Minerals, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

    In April of the current year the management of PJSC “Titanium institute” headed by the CEO, Brener Viktor, visited Song Binh Minerals Company, a part of the holding Rang Dong Group, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

    During the visit management representatives of  PJSC “Titanium institute” discussed the plans of Song Binh Minerals to develop a deposit of titaniferous and zirconium-containing ores. As a result of negotiations with the Song Binh Minerals Joint Stock Company, a contract was signed on the transfer of technology for setting up and operation of production lines for the industrial titanium dioxide pigment production by sulphate process. The contract provides for the design, construction and commissioning of the first stage of titanium dioxide pigment production from Vietnamese titaniferous concentrates and will be carried out jointly with experts from Sumy State University. Further plans of Song Binh Minerals Joint Stock Company include the construction and commissioning of the second stage of the above-mentioned production.

    PJSC “Titanium institute” took part in expositions and industry-specific events in Kyiv

    Specialists of  PJSC “Titanium institute” took part in the Third International Specialized Exposition ADDIT EXPO 3D that was held on April 2-5 in Kyiv. Theme of the exposition was related to technologies, equipment and materials for additive production and 3D printing.

    Besides, specialists of  PJSC “Titanium institute” visited such industry-specific events:

    1) USAID program presentation “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” which will contribute to the development of string, open and diversified economy of Ukraine by supporting competitive small and medium enterprises and start-ups in Ukrainian and international markets;

    2) Presentation of “eō Business Incubators” project launched by USAID. The project intends to stimulate development of technological economy in Ukraine and support innovative business.
