    Titanium hydride production technology

Titanium hydride is a binary chemical compound of titanium metal and hydrogen. It is a gray powder, magnetically susceptible; non-hygroscopic, due to which it does not react with water and acids. This product is most in demand in powder metallurgy for the production of active titanium, finely dispersed highly purified metal powders, diamond-containing materials.

JSC “Titanium Institute” offers for industrial implementation a modern, innovative resource-saving technology for the production of titanium hydride for the production of titanium alloys and alloyed metal-powder compositions. The technological process of hydrogenation of spongy titanium provides the ability to vary the quality of powders and their fractional composition, including the production of high-quality powders of the required granulometric composition (20-250 μm) for additive technologies, synthesis of products by powder metallurgy methods, surfacing, spraying, etc.

    APPLICATION

    • Nuclear power
    • Powder metallurgy
    • Production of foam metal
    • Automotive industry
    • Soldering of metal and ceramics
    • Isolation of rare metal groups
    • Corrosion-resistant filters for distillation of technical liquids
    • Plasma spraying
    • Vulcanization
    • Hydrogen source in laboratories
    • Additive in the production of thermite compositions

    PRODUCTION

Based on the existing technology, JSC “Titanium Institute” can design the production of hydrogenated titanium powders of the required productivity.

Our technological solutions will increase the added value and improve the competitiveness of manufactured products.

The implementation of this technology will allow the production of raw materials for both classic (cast and deformable) titanium alloys and for the latest production areas (additive powder technologies), which are widely implemented in high-tech areas of industry, chemistry, aviation, space technology and nuclear energy.
